  • For the warneford hospital (Allen ward) I was here under a section 2 on the Allen ward and even though I got on well with some staff, I found the service I received is inadequate and often led to making me feel worse and I feel guilty for asking for the things I need. The ward, staff and patients are being neglected and this has a knock on effect to the quality of care you’re offering. It needs some investigation and investment if possible.

  • I appreciated the little Christmas gift box from the JR SSIP ward, I went on a section under the mental health act and they could do with more training and understanding on how to manage patients under the mental health act and learn about reasonable adjustments for those with learning disabilities. The ward needs maintenance as the swing arm on a soft closing door has broken, leaving it to slam shut multiple times during the night and day which was very disruptive. The staff did not care about mine or other people welfare enough. They need more supervision, a call bell was allowed to ring out for far too long and mine was taken away from me and never returned even after I had asked, I struggled with mobility at the time so reaching one on the wall would be difficult. I heard a member of staff swear in front of another patient when facing a difficulty with equipment and this same member of staff questioned my gender as soon as I was transferred which was completely unnecessary and I took offence, it says my gender on my wrist band, and another patient was denied her cup of tea when she asked several times. They did not follow my dietary requirements and made it difficult for me to access things for my personal hygiene. It wasn’t a great experience but I acknowledge it’s probably because of staff shortages.
