Complex conditions require complex care

Sylvie was admitted to Oxford Children's Hospital needing care for a serious brain condition earlier this year. Like so many children in need of care, Sylvie's condition was complex and so required complex treatment.  Interconnected teams of clinical staff worked together to provide outstanding care, to give Sylvie the support she needed. 

And the role played by Oxford Hospitals Charity was crucial. 

In the last 18 months alone, Oxford Hospitals Charity has provided the Children's Hospital with six pieces of state-of-the-art technology, the beautiful artwork that makes it a calm and friendly environment, and the activities and toys used to support children's recovery.

Sylvie's mum, Caroline, is grateful to every member of the clinical staff at the Children's Hospital and the support they get from Oxford Hospitals Charity to deliver outstanding care.

Play Specialists are the unsung heroes of the Children's Hospital

The Play Specialists enable each child's physical and emotional recovery through play. Every 24 hours, Play Specialists support up to 150 children and nearly every toy, game and activity they use to motivate and support children is funded by donations to Oxford Hospitals Charity. 

The Play Specialists were crucial to Sylvie's recovery, helping her rebuild her strength and confidence to walk again.
