  • How to fundraise for your local hospitals.

How to fundraise for your local hospitals.

From black-tie dinners to coffee mornings, football tournaments to marathons, there are many ways that you can organise your own fundraising for the hospitals you care about.

Fundraising Ideas.

Bake sales

Bake sales are a fun and easy way to raise money for our charity. Simply bake delicious cookies or cakes and ask for a donation at your work or school - it’s always popular! Just make sure you have permissions and of course good hygiene control. Remember to ensure you list any allergens with each product you bake we have provided a guide here.

Sponsored silence

Sssh! - support for your local hospital Charity. - Set up a JustGiving Page.

Darts match

Charge an entry fee, have a raffle and refreshments to raise money and support for your local hospital Charity, why not make it fun with different competitions? Set up a JustGiving Page.

Street party

Get to know your neighbours by hosting a street party. Charge for entry with stalls, games, refreshments and raffles. All to support your local hospital Charity. - Set up a JustGiving Page.

Ugly jumper day

Get your groove on and invite colleagues to wear the ugliest jumper for a £5 donation, all in support of your local hospital Charity. - Set up a JustGiving Page.

Quiz nights

They say you learn something new every day! A quiz is a fantastic way of bringing communities together and raising funds. You can ask for a donation per entrant and raise money while you play.

Car boot sales

Car boot sales are a great way to have a good clear out and raise funds! Put up a sign and let people know that you are supporting us. And many sale organisers are happy to do a charity discount if you ask.

Take a Risk!

Now this fundraising idea is fast and fun – but you’ve got to be courageous to brave the shave! Beards, eyebrows, and the hair on your head – it’s up to you to decide just how far you go. You could also dare to dye – dye your hair some fabulous colours – your imagination is the limit.

Get your friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you and you’ll be amazed at just how much you can raise – and you come out with a whole new look!

Host a Games Night

If you’re into gaming, why not turn your Xbox or PlayStation marathons into an epic fundraiser? Get other players on board and have fun while raising awareness and support for your local hospital Charity. - Set up a JustGiving Page.

Speed dating

Set up in a local hall and invite all. Two Minutes to meet someone new, maybe sparks will fly, or you will even make a new friend while supporting your local hospital Charity. - Set up a JustGiving Page.

Brunch at work

Start the day right. Depending on your workspace, bring in breakfast (pancakes, cereals, toast, smoothies, and juices) and charge for a place to support your local hospital Charity. - Set up a JustGiving Page.

Open mic

Host an open mic night at your local pub, cafe or members club to support your local hospital Charity. - Set up a JustGiving Page.

Poetry slam

Ask your local coffee shop, bar or even church to sponsor you and hold a charity poetry slam. You could even give them the poems. Have fun while raising awareness and support for your local hospital Charity. - Set up a JustGiving Page.

Throw a themed party!

Throwing on costumes for a themed get-together is a fun way to fundraise! Whip up invites, collect a fee, or host a competition for the best-dressed guest!

Birthday fundraiser with Facebook

Set up a Birthday Fundraiser through Facebook

Dance-a-thon

Dance, Dance, Dance from 10am - 3pm or a full 24 hours and ask for sponsorship while raising awareness and support for your local hospital Charity. - Set up a JustGiving Page.

Crafting workshop

Find a crafty friend or group to teach and set up a paid workshop once a week to support your local hospital Charity. - Set up a JustGiving Page.

Pamper party

Relax after a busy week and raise funds for your local hospital Charity. Invite friends round for a night of homemade pampering, charge for entry and enjoy an evening of face masks, scrubs and manicures. - Set up a JustGiving Page.

The top tip is to do something you love or something you've always wanted to do - and always focus on the fundraising as much as the event or challenge itself.

We are here to help you along the way, so get in touch for support and ideas.

Setting up an online fundraising page

The majority of our fundraisers set up fundraising pages through JustGiving which is safe, quick and easy to use.

JustGiving

It makes a real difference if you tell people your reasons for fundraising and include a photo. The money comes direct to us, so you don't even have to collect it.

Our fundraising magazine is full of stories about people who have raised money for their chosen hospital causes - it may give you some ideas of your own.

All these ideas are a great way to raise money, just make sure you are safe, legal and clear about how much is coming to our charity. If you have any questions or want help, just get in touch:
