Adam takes on the London Marathon 2025 Meet Adam Bradley, one of our 2025 London Marathon superstars, who is set to take on the 26.2 mile course in just over two weeks' time. On target with his training, 43-year-old Adam from Didcot has already reached the 21-mile mark and is looking forward to getting out there and completing the iconic run. This isn’t Adams' first London Marathon. He ran the virtual course during lockdown and again in 2023 where he was carrying an injury which flared up in the second part of the run. This time around, he is hoping for an injury-free run! Adam, who is originally from Faringdon, chose to run for Oxford Hospitals Charity because of the impact the John Radcliffe Hospital has had on both his life and his family's. He was born at the John Radcliffe Hospital and has had numerous operations over the years, including major surgery to reconstruct his inner ear and the repair of a fractured eye socket. But Adam’s first memory of the hospital was in 1986, when he was just five years old. His baby sister, Rachel, was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour and spent a lot of time at the children's hospital before she sadly passed away aged just 13 months. Later, in 2022, his daughter, Gracie, was born at the JR and she also had a spell in hospital after having a successful operation to have grommets for glue ear. Speaking about his experience of the hospital, Adam said, “The level of care they showed my partner, Samantha, was incredible during a difficult delivery. The way they looked after my sister, myself and Gracie had been remarkable and I will forever be grateful for having such an amazing hospital on our doorstep - so raising funds for them will be an absolute privilege.” So far, Adam has raised over £1,500 and to help him reach his fundraising target of £3,000, he set up a charity golf day with Faringdon Town FC, where he and his friends and family were able to raise an extra £400.
