Recently a team from local company ServiceNow walked 20 Miles to raise funds for the Oxford Centre for Enablement (OCE).

George Greenaway, a senior Account Executive in the team, organised the walk on behalf of his younger brother, Harvey Greenaway. George saw first-hand the amazing work that took place at the OCE in 2018, when Harvey was involved in a serious car accident and suffered a traumatic brain injury.

George explains: "After being in a coma with life-threatening Injuries at the John Radcliffe hospital, Harvey progressed to the OCE. He spent five months there, going through rehabilitation, learning to walk, talk and function again."

"Since then, our family has been raising funds to support the very special work that the team does, and the outcomes the centre provides for both patients and families. I am incredibly humbled by how my colleagues have got behind the cause and the incredible generosity of everyone who has donated and shared their support".

The team have already raised over double their original target and are set to raise over £12,000.

A large part of the fundraising is being used to buy specialist rehabilitation equipment to help optimise the rehabilitation work and maximise the outcomes of patients.

The additional amount will be split between supporting the art department, which Harvey was incredibly fond of during his time in the OCE, and to help transform the OCE splinting room.

Harvey said: "I am beyond grateful to have met the most amazing nurses and doctors during my stay at the OCE. I really hope this money will help support the amazing work they do and make life a little easier for all the people like me who spend time there. I thank everyone who kindly donated to the cause and George's amazing colleagues who I met at the end of the walk."
Anton Pick, Neuro Rehabilitation, Consultant at the OCE, who treated Harvey, said: "We at the OCE are deeply moved by the incredible fundraising efforts George and the team have achieved for our service. Their generosity will make a meaningful difference to the rehabilitation journeys of many patients as they face some of the most challenging times of their lives. The kindness of the Greenaway family is already deeply felt throughout the OCE, and these planned additions will leave a lasting impact on everyone we care for. We are profoundly grateful."

Dawn and Trevor Greenaway, Harvey and Geroge's parents said: "On behalf of our family, we would like to sincerely thank George and the ServiceNow team for taking on this gruelling walk to raise money for the OCE. Our son Harvey spent five months at the OCE. When he arrived, he was in a wheelchair, unable to walk, talk, or feed himself.

Thanks to the incredible dedication and expertise of the OCE team, he walked out on his last day—able to say "thank you" himself. Harvey's strength and resilience were nothing short of a miracle, and every penny raised will help other children like him receive the same life-changing support at the OCE."

Lorna Eaton, Supporter Care Assistant said: "A heartfelt congratulations to George and the ServiceNow team! I am truly moved by the incredible support they have received. It's been an absolute privilege to have been able to support their fundraising."
