Get Involved Philanthropy Video support for cancer patients MORE than one million plays have been recorded across our transformative patient information videos regarding cancer care. Every one of those views represents someone feeling less anxious and more informed about whatever clinical journey they may be facing. Kind supporter of Oxford Hospitals Charity The Ashley Charitable Trust inspired and funded a series of information videos to be created with our fantastic clinicians covering topics such as Diagnostics: I’ve found a lump, Radiotherapy: side effects and support, breast cancer surgery – plus many more. The most viewed video that has been created over 2024 is Breast Cancer Chemotherapy which has now surpassed 413,000 views. This 16-minute video guide includes words from both a patient, Deputy Sister Lisa Dumbleton, and from Consultant Oncologist Andrew Eichholz who all help explain in detail the chemotherapy journey step by step as many will experience. Collectively the videos funded by generous donors have been viewed around 1.03million times. It can be an overwhelming journey for patients when embarking on their cancer journey, and the patient videos aim to provide a space for understanding and somewhere to reference time and time again where needed. Staff have reported how patients attend their appointments better prepared and as a result, consultations are more productive. Thanks to the wonderful support from The Ashley Charitable Trust, more information videos are in the pipeline for 2025 across further areas to reach and support even more patients.
