The Cardiothoracic Surgery team now offers minimally invasive mitral valve surgery (MIMVS) through a smaller incision, benefiting 80-100 patients annually. MIMVS results in shorter hospital stays, reduced infection risks, improved cosmetic outcomes, and faster recovery, particularly for younger patients, making this approach accessible to many due to donor support.
